Installing Other Languages into Windows XP
This works with all versions of Office, including Officebut this is not for Windows 8. If the language group you want is not checked; then check the appropriate box. I think Office is distributed in Windowws markets with Chinese language packs containing the latest IME updates, and so if it sees Office the installer assumes you already have the update.
